NextStart is a highly competitive, summer immersion entrepreneur development program to attract promising entrepreneurs to the upstate Carolina region. This public - private partnership involves mentors, investors, public programming, and of course outstanding start-up companies.
Program highlights include:
- provide seed money, connections, advice and mentoring to company founders to develop their idea into an impressive opportunity positioning them to raise additional money
- the funding of $5,000 to $10,000 per company is provided in return for "founders stock" of five to ten percent
- work closely with the founders on their products, setup the company legally, and introduce them to investors to obtain follow-on funding
- administer a twelve week program during the summer in Greenville complete with office space, internet access, formal mentoring, free professional services, etc.
